Our local community is reeling from the devastating news of the death of a six-year-old child, only weeks after his father’s tragic passing due to a lightning strike. The dual tragedies have left the community in profound shock and sorrow.
Regrettably, we report that the brave young boy, who had shown tremendous strength in his fight for life after the incident, has now sadly passed away.
The gut-wrenching event unfolded when little Grayson Boggs, aged 6, and his father Matthew Boggs, 34, were enjoying a walk in their Valley Hills driveway, holding hands, when a sudden lightning strike led to catastrophic injuries for both.
After the instantaneous death of Matthew at the scene, Grayson battled for life and was rushed to Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple. Despite the dire prognosis, his family kept their spirits high and clung onto hope.
